The Quran was not sent down to a particular nation. The message of Quran is universal and holds valid instructions for people of all times. There are numerous calls made to the entire humanity and to the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) compelling each group to testify Tawheed.

While shedding light upon people of the Book, Allah (SWT) says:

“Say O People of the Book come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but God and that we shall ascribe no partners to Him and that none of us shall take others for lords beside God.” (3: 64).

 Quite interestingly, Quran does not call upon people to come forth and join the Arab tribes but only towards Islam – a true understanding of Quran.

At an instance, Allah (SWT) states:

 "If they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due then they are your brothers in religion” (9:11)

It is true that Quran mentions the stories of the past nations, descriptions of how prophets in past were condemned by their nations but in each of these, there are instructions for mankind. The people are repeatedly commanded to study Quran and find out lessons for them. Understanding of Quran is repeatedly enforced within the Book.

“And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?” (54: 22)

Remember here refers to understand, seek advice and implementation of that. Allah (SWT) and His Prophet (PBUH) desired for the Muslim Ummah to hold tight onto the rope of Allah. For that, Quran would be their ultimate tool. Thus, it is impossible for Allah (SWT) to leave His slaves without any manual to follow. Quran was revealed as a manual. Each person needs to figure out and critically analyze the circumstances of past nations. They need to follow the clear injunctions laid down without hesitation of losing out in the temporary world.

"It is nothing else but a reminder to the worlds."

 

The Perfection of Divine Message:

Quran was revealed upon Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W) and it was stated by Allah (SWT) that it was the last of all books. "We have revealed this Book to you with the Truth, confirming whatever Book was before it, and We keep watch over it" [5:48].

Allah (SWT) wanted people to know it was the final Book. Anyone who claims to have another Divine Book would not be considered truthful from now on. It makes us understand the fact that Quran contains all the lessons from previous books but it also adds to them and completes them. Another miracle of Quran is the fact that it consoles people. Scholars advise people to open Quran and read it when they feel sad or depressed. As a person goes through the pages, they find comfort soaking deep into their hearts. The pain settles down and they feel a secure cloak around them.

Thereby, it is true that Quran holds message for entire mankind. It calls upon all people at certain instances. The commandments are to be followed by people of all times.
