Introduction to the Holy Quran:

The Holy Quran is the Last Scripture revealed by Allah (SWT) for the guidance of mankind. Revealed upon the last and final messenger Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W), this book was a seal to all the Divine Books. It marked the beginning of a revived era of mankind. There were laws and teachings that defined new pathways for humanity, along with that, it contained some teachings that were also given to the people from olden times.

Ultimate Source of Guidance:

This Book deals with specific subjects that are universal. The stories from past and the lessons derived could be applied in current situations. The Prophet (S.A.W.W) clearly stated that this Book would be a source of light for the ignorant. It was supposed to bring discipline into the lives of people. He stated:

 

“O people I am leaving behind among you the Holy Book (Quran) and the Sunnah (way of Prophet (SAW)), if you follow these in letter and spirit you will never be strayed.”    (Hakim Al-Mustadrik, Book1 Hadith 318)

The faith of a Muslim must be grounded upon the fact that Quran is a source of guidance prescribed by his Lord. No other book could compete with its wisdom and knowledge.

Rewards associated with Understanding:

Allah (SWT) fixed insurmountable rewards for the people who indulge in reading, reflecting and conveying the message of Quran.

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is reported to have said:

“The best among you is he who learns the Quran and teaches it to others.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 4)

As per a Hadith, there are ten rewards for each letter that you recite from the Quran. The ones who recite and ponder over Quran would find the Book commending on their behalf in Hereafter.

The Medium of Quran:

The language of Quran is Arabic. It is a language that not all people can understand. This lack of understanding often distracts people from getting the true essence. The recitation is their prime focus.

Indeed, recitation of Quran is highly rewarded and it is mandatory for Muslims to beautify their Quranic accent; however, understanding the meaning is also emphasized. It is required for all Muslims to perceive the meaning and comprehend over the Quranic verses. They are enjoined to be conscious of their duties.

A Muslim is rendered to figure out his solutions through the help of Quran, rather than relying on worldly means only. This makes is integral for Muslims to read the translation of Quran and implement those in their lives.

When they turn their backs on Quran:

“And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.” (Surah Az-Zukhruf: 36)

The remembrance of Ar-Rahman in this verse points towards Quran. The ones who turn their backs on Quranic message find Shayateen to be their ultimate companions. These could be in the form of people, greed, desires or even in form of their dearest companions. These people become a source of toxicity in their lives. They divert them from the true duty of a Muslim. The love for world takes a number of them and they find themselves in a dark abyss. The face of lie covers the lives of such people because they went astray from a prescribed path. It is the knock of death at their doors which allows them to see the truth but sadly, it’s too late.

Satan would then be the companion of such people in Hellfire too. The ones who commit evil together and do not pay heed to the reminders will find themselves burning in the Hellfire together.

What happens through understanding?

The understanding of Quranic message would mean that mothers will be raising their kids in light of Divine teachings. This shall ensure a reformation of Muslim Ummah. The Muslim nation has been deteriorating consistently over past few years. Cultural, economic and social setbacks consume them with worries. All due to the fact that they have denied fixed order by Allah (SWT). Understanding the Book would also mean people have more knowledge of religion, Divine assistance would arrive to help them get through tough times and misconceptions of people about Islamic laws would be eliminated. There will be moral and social righteousness spread in a community if people acknowledge Quranic message and make efforts to follow those. Above all that, the Almighty Allah would be happy with tiniest of efforts and become the source of aid for these people.
